Steps to Apply


It is important when applying to college to make sure that you have everything you will need. Use the checklist below to get started.

Official academic transcript(s) (including Dual Enrollment courses). Ask your Guidance Office to send this for you.

Minimum of 21 ACT composite score or 980/990 SAT Critical Reading and Mathematics combined score. Your Guidance Counselor can include this with your transcript.*

Minimum 3.00 high school GPA (unweighted)*

A non-refundable $25 application fee ($50 for international students)

Completed Application for Admission (including the Personal Statement which you can complete online!)

Immunization records (printable form)

*For students who do not meet the minimum high school grade point average (unweighted) and/or minimum ACT composite score/SAT Critical Reading and Mathematics combined score, the University will require the student to complete a personal statement. Written by the student, the personal statement will indicate why the student would like to attend Cumberland University, would help contribute to a diverse student body, and measures the student will take to be successful academically at the University. You can submit your personal statement now by clicking here or by emailing it to
